North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visited farmland affected by Typhoon Bavi and expressed relief the damage was "smaller than expected", the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported early on Friday.

The report did not mention exactly when Kim's visit took place, but from the timing of the path of the typhoon, the release of the news and the lighting in the photos, it looks like the visit would have been late on Thursday afternoon. Typhoon Bavi had made landfall in South Hwanghae province early on Thursday. North Korea has been trying to recover from serious damage caused by heavy rains and floods earlier in August, which flooded fields and destroyed homes, according to KCNA.
