Kenya's Chebet shatters women's 5km world record

Kenya's Beatrice Chebet broke the women's world 5km record at the CursadelsNassos road race in Barcelona on Sunday.

She crossed the line in 14 minutes 13 seconds, beating Ethiopian SenbereTeferi's women-only record by 16 seconds. Chebet also finished six seconds faster than the women's world record in a mixed race, set by Ethiopia's EjgayehuTaye at the 2021 CursadelsNassos.
