Kenyan and Ugandan Presidents launch rail extension in Kisumu

Kenya and Uganda took a major step towards regional integration, launching a new phase of the Standard Gauge Railway aimed at linking East Africa to the Democratic Republic of Congo on Saturday. The event is presided over by Kenya’s President William Ruto and his Ugandan counterpart Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, with the project expected to ease pressure on roads, cut transport costs, reduce accidents, and boost cross-border trade.
