Kayin State Day: Celebration held in Hpa-An

Annual celebration of the 69th Kayin State Day was held at the compound of Kayin State Government Office on Thursday.

The ceremony was attended by members of the State Administration Council MhanNyeinMaung and Khun San Lwin together with Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs JengPhangNawTaung, Chief Minister U Saw Myint Oo and many other concerned officials.

During the ceremony, the attendees saluted the state flag and paid tribute to the fallen martyr heroes. Then, the message sent by the Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister ThadoeMaha ThraySithu ThadoeThiriThudhamma Senior General Min Aung Hlaing was read out by the SAC member.

This was followed by the opening speech of the Chief Minister. Then, the commemorative archway and galleries of 69th Anniversary Kayin State Day was opened, along with the releasing of 69 doves, wishing for peace in Kayin State.

Next, the SAC members and party viewed around the departmental galleries, ethnic traditional cultural galleries, local products and MSME product booths. They, then awarded the winners of fruit and vegetable competition at the gallery of Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation. During the ceremony, first prize winning crops were awarded among 40 different kind of fruit and vegetable by dividing 4 groups.

Then, the SAC members and party cheered the final competition of traditional boat racing event. During the ceremony, Red Cross members and rescue team were presented with honourable awards while the medals, cash awards and trophies to first, second and third prize winners of men/women boat racing event.

Next, the SAC member and party presented honourable certificate and awards to the recipients in Kayin State at Zwegapin hall of Hpa-an Township. During the event, awards were presented to outstanding individuals in the fields of management, social, economy, environmental conservation, education, industrial and technology, livestock breeding and religious sector.

In the evening of 6th November, the SAC members and party enjoyed the 2nd day competition of Don dance performance and presented cash awards to the participating teams.
