Kayin New Year: SAC Chairman sends a message on Kayin New Year occasion

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing sent a message on Kayin New Year Day, which falls on December 30th.

The Prime Minister wished for the physical well-being and mental health of all citizens during the auspicious time of Kayin New Year, which usually falls on the 1st Waxing Day of Pyatho.

He added that the national races residing in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar coexist based on the spirit of union and mutual respect, despite their diverse customs. Kayin nationals have been living all across Myanmar, alongside other national brethren, in unity and harmony.

It is a great honor to witness the Kayin people participating in the country's struggle for independence with full nationalistic fervor. He urged Kayin nationals to safeguard their language, literature, culture, customs, and heritage, and to pass these legacies on to future generations.

He highlighted the crucial role of peace in promoting the social status of the people, ensuring tranquility, and upholding the rule of law. He stated that the State Administration Council is working toward achieving internal peace and stability and stressed the importance of addressing conflicts and misunderstandings through dialogue based on mutual respect.

To achieve lasting peace, the State Administration Council is engaging in dialogue with political parties and ethnic armed organizations, and the agreed points are being documented for approval in future parliamentary sessions.

He emphasized that efforts for peace will continue, and invitations for dialogue remain open. He called for the participation of all national brethren in an effort to ensure peace, stability, the rule of law, and socio-economic development. He expressed his wish to achieve peace and prosperity in the nation through the united efforts of national brethren to end conflicts and armed terrorism in the respective areas including Kayin State.
