Residents in the mountains of California are still digging their way out after a powerful winter storm buried them under several feet of snow last week, and more snow is on the way for some.
The National Weather Service said that after another round of snow on Wednesday, the weather will turn wetter, with more rain and, at higher elevations, wet snow. The California Highway Patrol Office in Truckee, saidthat the area had seen around 16 feet of snow over the last two weeks. Gov. Gavin Newsom last week declared a state of emergency across 13 counties, including Nevada County, as a result of the winter storms.
