Kathina robe offering: Kachin State CM attended the ceremony

The 14th Kathina robe offering ceremony co-organized by Kachin State Government and collaborated by State, District and Township level departments was held at Moegoke Yeiktha monastery in Rampu Ward of Myitkyina Township on 13th November.

First, the congregation led by Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan and wife observed five precepts administered by member Sayadaw of State Sangha Mahanayaka Committee and took the Paritta Suttas recited by the Sangha.

Next, the Chief Minister and wife, officials and attendees offered the Kathina robe and offertories to the members of Sangha, took the sermon and shared the merits gained. Then, the Chief Minister and wife made golden and silvery shower and offered the day meal to the Sangha.

After that, the Chief Minister and party attended the opening ceremony of 3rd Tribal Friendship (Women) Futsal competition organized by Kachin National Association of Tradition and Culture held at Nyeinchan Thaya Futsal Court in Myitkyina Township.

The Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan gave an opening speech and provided 1 million Kyats cash assistance for the sport competition. And the Chief Justice of the State High Court and State Minister for Ethnic Affairs each provided half of million Kyats and the athletes from 6 Futsal Football teams represented the Kachin tribal groups were cordially greeted.

The Chief Minister and party enjoyed the entertainment programs performed to commemorate the opening ceremony, provided cash of honor to the performing groups and watched the competition between Lawwaw team and Jinphaw team.
