Kathina robe offering: Kachin State CM attended the ceremony

The 2023 collective Mahakathina robe offering ceremony organized by Kachin State Government was held at Dhammarakhita Wuntho monastery in Myitkhina Township of Kachin State at 9 AM on 25th November.

The congregation led by the State government ministers and wives, Senior Tatmadaw officials, State level departmental officials and invited guests observed five precepts administered by the presiding Sayadaw of Dhammarakhita Wuntho monastery and took the Paritta Suttas recited by the members of Sangha.

Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan and wife, Commander of Northern Command Brigadier General Soe Hlaing and wife, State ministers, Senior Tatmadaw officials offered Kathina robe and offertories to the members of Sangha, took the sermon delivered by Sayadaw, shared merits gained, the Chief Minister and Commander threw the money to the attendees and offered ‘Soon’ (Day meal) to the members of Sangha.

In the afternoon, the Chief minister provided rice and basic foods as a token of new harvest for the ethnic literature and traditional cultural association/body/committee to celebrate the ceremony of new harvest festival at Manaw Mansion in Manaw ground, Sitapu Ward of Myitkyina. At the event of providing assistance, Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan clarified the purpose of the provision and encouraged to participate in the prayer.

Next, the Chief Minister and wife, State ministers and State Advocate General provided rice bags, cooking oil, chickpea, salt, boxes of instant noodle and purified drinking water bottles to the 13 ethnic literature and culture committees and the Chair of Myanmar Kachin national traditional cultural association U Zaw Moe Naw expressed words of thanks.

Afterward, the Chief Minister attended the youth fashion show of Couture Gala 2023 co-organized by Miracle Foundation and Man Made designers at Ma Gyal all in Manaw ground and provided cash assistance.
