Kathina Robe Offering Ceremony: SAC Chairman Prime Minister offered Kathina robe & offertories

The Republic of the Union of Myanmar State Administration Council’s 2023 Kathina robe offering ceremony was held at Sasana Beikman of Uppatasanti Pagoda, Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on 24th November and the Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla offered the Kathina robe and offertories.

The ceremony was attended by the 27 members of Sangha led by the Secretary Sayadaw of the State Sanghamahanayak Committee presiding Sayadaw of Thanlyin Township Min Kyaung Pathamabyan Sarthintaik, SAC Chairman Prime Minister and wife, Council secretary, joint-secretary and wife, Council members and wives, Union Level officials, Union Ministers, Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council, Senior Tatmadaw officials and wives, Commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command and officials concerned.

First, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister paid homage to the Buddha image in the Sasana Beikman and offered alms-food in emarald bowl, flowers, water, lamps and fruits.

Next, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister and attendees looked round the Kathina robe, offertories and offertories trees dedicated to be offered to the Mahavijitayon monastery in Zabuthiri Township.

Next, the congregation led by the SAC Chairman Prime Minister observed five precepts administered by Thanlyin Min Kyaung Sayadawgy and took the Paritta Sutts recited by the members of Sangha.

Then, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister and wife offered Kathina robe and offertories to the Thanlyin Min Kyaung Sayadawgy, Kyaukme Sayadawgyi and Kathina robe received Mahavijitayon monastery Sayadaw Baddanta Nanuttara. Council secretary, joint-secretary and wife, Council members and wives, Union level officials, Union Ministers, Senior Tatmadaw officials offered the Kathina robe and offertories. Consequently, Ngedaungtawya monastery Sayadaw of Tatkone Township and Ohndaw monastery Sayadaw conducted the question and answer section regarding with the Kathina robe.

Then, the congregation led by the SAC Chairman Prime Minister took the sermon delivered by the Thanlyin Min Kyaung Sayadawgyi and shared the merits gained.

After concluding the ceremony, the congregation led by the SAC Chairman Prime Minister and wife offered ‘Soon’ (Day meal) to the members of Sangha.

At the 2023 State Administration Council’s Kathina robe offering ceremony, 50 offertories trees and cash donation of over 90.158 million Kyats totaling over 136.714 million Kyats were donated, it’s learnt.
