Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with his South Korean counterpart Kang Kyung-wha at the foreign ministry in Seoul on Thursday. Wang arrived in Seoul on Wednesday, following his trip to Tokyo. The two ministers are to discuss bilateral cooperation in tackling COVID-19 and regional issues, along with Chinese President Xi Jinping's possible visit to Seoul.
Kang said he hope today's meeting can be an opportunity to discuss the coronavirus pandemic response, economic recovery, and measures to maintaining peace and stability in the region. Wang was also expected to meet with South Korean President Moon Jae-in later in the day.
