Kamala Harris meets with Nigerian VP Yemi Osinbajo

Vice President Kamala Harris welcomed Nigeria's Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, to the White House Friday for a meeting to reaffirm the strong U.S.-Nigeria relationship and to discuss the regional and global challenges in West Africa.

During remarks in the ceremonial office at the White House Harris said, "There is a strong relationship between the United States and Nigeria."

Both leaders reflected on the longstanding relationship, The two vice presidents underlined the importance of strengthening ties and addressing the issues of the climate crisis, upcoming elections in Nigeria, and regional security concerns in Nigeria and The Sahel.
