Kachin State Trip: SAC Member makes inspections in Myitkyina Tsp.

Member of the State Administration Council Daw Dwe Bu made inspections in Kachin State on Friday. In Myitkyina Township, the SAC Member inspected the basic foodstuffs sale at fair prices in ShweNyaungPin Ward Market and gave necessary instructions.

She also attended the International Literacy Day 2023 ceremony at the No. 9 Basic Education High School and gave a speech. This year's International Literacy Day theme is "Promoting literacy for a world in transition: Building the foundation for sustainable and peaceful societies”.

International Literacy Day is an international observance, celebrated each year on 8 September, that was declared by UNESCO on 26 October 1966 at the 14th session of UNESCO's General Conference. It was celebrated for the first time in 1967.

Its aim is to highlight the importance of literacy to individuals, communities and societies. Celebrations take place in several countries. This event also included an awarding ceremony for the essay, poem, painting and poster competition marking the International Literacy Day 2023.

There, the SAC Member also held a meeting with basic education officials and staff and stressed the importance of basic education sector producing human resources that are full of knowledge for the future of the country.

In the afternoon, she inspected construction of the No. 2/484 Ayeyawaddy River-Crossing Bridge and the No. 2 Bala Min Htin Bridge, heard reports, gave necessary instructions and coordinated the need.
