Kachin State Day: 71st Anniversary Celebration Held In Myitkyina

71st Anniversary Kachin State Day Celebration took place in the Manaw grounds of Sitarpu Ward in Myitkyina on 10th January. State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi attended the celebration together with the Union Ministers and officials. Chief Minister of Kachin State Dr. Khet Aung read out the message of greetings sent by President U Win Myint.

The State Counsellor later gave words of honour for Kachin State Day. She stressed the need to put rely on self-performance so as to bring best result for national development. She also pointed out that everyone can be the leaders and the followers as well.

All must have to perform the tasks relying on each other. She reiterated that organizing of Manaw Festival is a symbol of paying way to the Union which has to shape with the collective strength of all national brethren. She also reminded the importance of achieving peace to go forward to the establishment of a developed nation.

The Reverend of Sitarpu Baptist Church later gave blessings to honour the Kachin State Day. Then, the Manaw Festival was formally opened by the State Counsellor, the Union Minister and officials. The State Counsellor later joined the Manaw Dance together with the traditional cultural troupe.

The Kachin State Day celebration is set to be held for two days with varieties of activities including Kachin traditional martial arts competition and other sports events.
