





The opening ceremony of “2024 Inter-Regions and States Judo competition” took place at the Wunna Theikdi Stadium (A) in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday. It was attended by SAC members Daw Dwe Bu, Porel Aung Thein, Dr. Hmu Htan, Dr. Ba Shwe, Khun San Lwin, U Shwe Kyain and U Yan Kyaw, Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers, departmental officials, chairman of Myanmar Judo federations and concerned officials as well as coaches and athletes.
At the ceremony, chairman of Myanmar Olympic Committee and Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan said that the competition aims to turn out new generation athletes from regions and states, and promote the Myanmar Judo standards.
He urged officials to prepare the selection plan and train the new generation athletes systematically for the upcoming 33rd Southeast Asian Games to be held in Thailand in 2025. Union Minister also urged all athletes to make strenuous efforts for the victory to be brought to their represent regions and states through competing with sport spirit in friendly manner and promote the sport standard by participating in this sport event.
Then, Union Minister opened the “2024 Inter-Regions and States Judo competition” and the participants recited the sport oath. After that, SAC members, Union Minister and concerned officials cordially greeted the athletes and enjoyed the competitions. Its reported that 15 men’s and 15 women’s teams comprising 269 administrators and athletes are participating in the competition set to be held till June 7 and the entrance fees is free of charge.
