Jubilation: MRTV turns 78

MRTV 78th Anniversary was held at the headquarters in Nay Pyi Taw Tatkon, Thursday. Chairman of the State Administration Council, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attended the ceremony, together with members of the SAC, Union Ministers, departmental officials under the Ministry of Information, private TV channels and FM stations, artistes from the movie and music industries so also members of Myanmar Broadcasters Association and MRTV veterans Association.

The ceremony was kicked off with LED animation and it was followed by commemorative song “We Love MRTV”. Next, the visiting Senior General launched the Analogue Switch Off (ASO) for three Relay Stations from Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon and Mandalay, as the pilot project according to the commitment of ASEAN ASO 2020. After that, the Senior General pressed the button for launching HD Channels numbering (7) comprising MRTV Farmers’ Channel, Sports Channel and MITV, so also Channel K, YTV, Fortune TV and M Entertainment Channels and extended broadcasting of 12 channels on MRTV DTH Platform.

After which, special documentary “People’s MRTV” was played on the occasion. It reflects relentless efforts with the mission to inform, educate and entertain the people, collaboration with respective ministries, progress of digitalization and transformation from SD to HD system, MRTV application on social media platform, renovation of old studios and extension of news studio, so also creation of interesting content programs on nation-building endeavors for the people.

On the occasion, Chairman of the SAC, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing delivered an address, saying that it’s been his third time attendance at the anniversary celebration since the Diamond Jubilee occasion in 2021.

Highlighting the status as the historic dutiful state media, the Prime Minister praised MRTV’s adaptation to the changing trend of technology. The improvements have been seen year after year with the opening of the Diamond Jubilee Museum, along with the launching of new TV channels and News Studio as well as upgrading to HD systems.

He said these achievements have been made due to the collective efforts of the staff, dedicating to present for the audience with a new, active, and fresh outlook. The Prime Minister also mentioned the public relations efforts being carried out by the MRTV staff, conducting field trips to the battlefield to stage music entertainment.

Emphasizing the need to achieve peace and stability in the country, the Prime Minister pointed out that the country has suffered due to the actions of subversive media outlets. He stressed the need to take counteraction against combating fake and false news responsively.

He called for accelerated efforts in providing public service works for the satisfaction of the audience, including all national brethren residing in the country and abroad. He wished for the perpetuation of the good reputation and long-lasting of MRTV. Then, the Senior General presented honoraria for the MRTV staff who serve duties in various aspects, to the Union Minister who in turn presented the commemorative emblem for the anniversary.

Honoring the 78th Anniversary of MRTV, beautiful music combination of Myanmar National Symphony Orchestra, Traditional Saiwai and Myanmar Radio Music Troupes was staged with the accompaniment of cultural dance troupe and artistes. After the musical show, the Senior General presented honoraria and flower baskets to the artistes. The Senior General and guests then greeted the staff and took a tour of MRTV building, observing the work operation in the studios.
