Jordan's King Abdullah II inaugurated the first ordinary session of the 19th Parliament on Monday. Abdullah reaffirmed the Kingdom's position on the Palestinian cause, stressing that Jordan will continue to stand by the Palestinians until they gain their full rights, and establish an independent state.

In its next regular session, the parliament will discuss proposals by the King's "Royal Committee to Modernize the Political System", which drafted electoral and party laws, as well as the constitutional amendments associated with them. Lawmakers will also discuss the draft law of the state's general budget.
