




The State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister and the President of the Russian Federation released the joint declaration of the two countries to media.
First, the President of the Russian Federation Mr Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin delivered a speech. In his speech, the President of the Russian Federation mentioned that Russian Federation welcomes the visit of Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, to Russia.
There is also a trustworthy relationship between the two countries. They are holding discussions. In 1948, Russia was among the first countries to recognize Myanmar’s independence, back when it was part of the Soviet Union. Later, the Soviet Union assisted Myanmar, including support for scholars. Currently, Russia continues to support Myanmar. It is also assisting in Myanmar’s industrial sector. Furthermore, Russia supports Myanmar in ensuring stability in its internal affairs.
Last year, the trade volume between our nations increased by approximately 40 per cent. The two counctries are also collaborating in the energy sector and planning to expand further cooperation in this field. An agreement has been reached for the construction of small-scale nuclear power plants in Myanmar, which will significantly contribute to the country’s electricity supply. Several agreements related to construction in Myanmar have also been made, which will create numerous job opportunities for workers and specialists.
The joint projects are being implemented in the industrial and advanced technology sectors. We are implementing joint projects in the industrial and advanced technology sectors. A Russian culture centre is planned to be opened in Myanmar. In Yangon, there are plans to construct the first Russian Orthodox Christian Church. Likewise, two cultural and Buddhist centres of Myanmar have been established in Russia. On 9 May, the 82nd National Victory Day will be celebrated in Moscow.
The Prime Minister has been invited to attend this ceremony. The Myanmar Tatmadaw contingent will also participate in the Red Square parade, including the march-past event. The discussions held during the visit of the Chairman of the State Administration Council to Russia have been successful. Based on the results achieved, he firmly believes that cooperation between the two countries will continue to develop in various sectors. Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing also delivered a speech.
He said that, he is in the Russian Federation on a friendly visit at the invitation of President Putin. Russia is an important and trustworthy friend of Myanmar. During the visit, there was the opportunity to hold extensive discussions with President Putin on various international matters concerning both nations.
Likewise, there are meetings with Defence Minister Mr Mikhail Vladimirovich Mishustin and the two parliamentary chairpersons. The ways to enhance economic cooperation, promote economic development, and further strengthen our bilateral relations were discussed.
Through this visit, the friendship between the two countries will deepen, and there is a confidence that cooperation will continue to develop in various sectors, including trade, economy, defence, science and technology, electricity, industry, and energy, achieving greater success in the near future.
Myanmar fully supports Russia and its people in ensuring the stability of Russia’s sovereignty and contributing to global peace. Moreover, as Myanmar works toward its political objectives, Russia’s consistent support for Myanmar on the international stage is sincerely appreciate.
