Joint Coordination Committee Meeting: Cooperation in the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes

Joint Russia-Myanmar Coordination Committee on Cooperation in the Use of Nuclear Energy for Peaceful Purposes held its 2nd meeting on February 5th in a hybrid format.

The meeting was co-chaired by the Deputy Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Aung Zeya and Deputy Director-General of Rosatom Mr. Nikolay Spassky. Also present at the meeting were officials from various committee member ministries from Myanmar in person and representatives from Rosatom via video conference.

At the meeting, both sides had a cordial discussion on implementing the MoU, developing the legal framework and infrastructure for nuclear energy, training nuclear technicians and cooperation in the utilization of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes to benefit the country and its people. After the meeting, the two sides signed the minutes of the second Joint Coordination Committee Meeting.
