Job Opportunities for Youths: Indoor Electrical Wiring Installation Course

A closing ceremony of the Indoor electrical wiring installation course No-1 and opening ceremony of the course NO-2 was held at the City Hall of Mandalay Township on 17th January.

The courses were conducted with the supervision of the Job Opportunities Creating Working Sub-Committee and youth affairs committee aiming to eliminate child labor,

The training also aims to emerge skilled workers, and the courses last for 4 weeks with free of charge.

Depending on the standards of the National Skills Standard Authority (NSSA), the course teaches knowledge to become skillful workers who meet the needs of the workplace.

Principal, Skills Training Center (Mandalay), Win Min Soe, said "At the course, we teach basic electrical theory and the disciplines that must follow in wiring installing. We lecture them wiring installing with 30 percent in theory and 70 percent in practical field. The person who completed the course can do wiring well. Besides, they can pass Level 1 exam conducted by the NSSA."

There are three courses- Indoor electrical wiring installation, aircon maintenance course and welding course. Anyone who passed middle school can attend with no limitation on age.The main reason is to create job opportunities for the youths. If you want to join, you can apply at the skills training center, Mandalay.

At the course 1, there are 20 trainees and now they are completed the course and 25 trannies will attend the upcoming course 2. 

Trainee, Aung Phay Myat, said " The teachers teach us very well both technically and practically. We do a lot of practices. That course meets with ASEAN standards. Thus, if we want to go abroad to work, we can get the certificates that are given out by the course."

7 vocational training courses were conducted by the collaboration of theJob Opportunities Creating Working Sub-Committee and youth affairs committee. These training courses have already turned out 172 skilled workers, and 93 of themget the job as soon as they completed the courses.
