Japan’s trade Minister Muto Yoji said his officials will carefully assess the trade deal the United States struck with Britain.

Muto said that there has been no change to the Japanese government’s stance of seeking the full removal of the 25-percent tariffs on automobiles and vehicle parts. Japan’s Chief tariff negotiator has praised the efforts the US and UK in striking a trade deal. But he stressed that the situation with his country remains unresolved.  He noted that he wants to look for areas that can be brought up in talks with the US.
