





Pearl Harbor ceremony marks 80th anniversary of end of WWII. A ceremony was held at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on Tuesday to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of World War Two. On September 2, 1945, Japanese representatives signed the document of surrender on board the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay.
The anniversary ceremony was held at the Battleship Missouri Memorial in Pearl Harbor. About 1,000 people, including the grandson of Japanese foreign minister at the time, Shigemitsu Mamoru, attended the event. Shigemitsu was among the signees of the surrender document. Participants offered a silent prayer, mourning the deaths of soldiers in the war and praying for peace.
