Japan thanks to Jordan for helping nationals

Japanese Defense Minister Nakatani Gen expressed gratitude to Jordan for assisting in the evacuation of Japanese nationals amid rising tensions in the Middle East. During his visit to Amman on Thursday, the final stop of his Africa and Middle East tour, Nakatani held talks with Jordanian Prime Minister and Defense Minister Jafar Hassan.

The meeting lasted about 30 minutes. Jordan provided a staging area for Japan’s Self-Defense Force personnel and aircraft during evacuation operations from Israel and other locations. Both sides agreed to enhance defense cooperation and exchanges, with their defense authorities to maintain close communication. Hassan welcomed Japan’s growing partnership with Jordan and voiced hope for further strengthening of bilateral ties.
