








A ceremony of growing Japan Cherry saplings donated by Japan-Myanmar Cultural Promotion Association was held at the precinct of the Maravijaya Buddha Image, Dakkhinathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory in the morning on December 25.
Present at the occasion were the Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko, Deputy Ministers U Kyaw Myo Htut, U Aye Tun and Dr. Moe Zaw Tun, Senior military officials and director generals, parliamentarian of the lower house of the National Diet of Japan Mr.HiromichiWatanabe, Chairman of Japan-MyanmarCultural Promotion Association Mr.Fumio Usui and officials.After opening the ceremony, the Union Minister U Ko Ko said the Cherry saplings donated by Japan-Myanmar Cultural Promotion Association will be planted at the precinct of the Maravijaya Buddha Image which will become a landmark in Nay Pyi Taw.
After completing the erecting the Maravijaya Buddha Image which will be the world largest marvel stone sculptured Buddha Image and the cherry sapling that have planted will be enough growth to give shade and peace in mind for the pilgrims.
The cherry trees at the Maravijaya Buddha Image will represent a symbol between Myanmar and Japan.Next, the parliamentarian of the lower house of the National Diet of Japan Mr.Hiromichi Watanabe gave a remark.Then, Union Minister U Ko Ko, Japan Lower House representative Mr.Hiromichi Watanabe,Japan-Myanmar Cultural Promotion Association ChairmanMr.
Fumio Usui and officials planted cherry saplings at the designated places, put fertilizers and poured with purified water.Afterward, the Union Minister, Japan lower house representative together with the attendees posed for documentary photo and viewed round the construction works of the Maravijaya Buddha Image, it’s learnt.
