Japan launches next-generation H3 rocket carrying QZS-5 Michibiki No.5 satellite

Japan’s H3 F8 rocket lifted off from the Tanegashima Space Center, carrying the QZS-5 Michibiki No.5 satellite. The 1.8-ton satellite will join the Quasi-Zenith Satellite System, Japan’s network of positioning satellites that provide coverage across the country. The launch strengthens Japan’s satellite navigation infrastructure and advances its next-generation space capabilities.
