


The head of Japan’s gas lobby said a plan for increasing US production of the fuel could lead to lower import prices.
Japan Gas Association Chairperson said in news conference on Tuesday that US President Donald Trump’s proposals to increase energy production in the US may pull prices lower for liquefied natural gas, or LNG. Japan sourced about 8 percent of its LNG imports from the US in 2023.
He also said plans to increase gas production in Alaska could lead to higher producer costs given investments in building pipelines.
