Japan and the European Union have agreed to cooperate on diversifying supply chains of critical minerals, including rare earths. Japanese trade and industry minister Akazawa Ryosei met with Stephane Sejourne, executive vice-president of the European Commission for Industrial Strategy and Prosperity, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland on Wednesday.

They said in a joint statement after their talks that they will cooperate to form private-public projects as soon as possible to diversify supply chains of critical minerals.
