A traditional garden in Ishikawa Prefecture on the Sea of Japan coast is now open to the public free of charge to allow everyone to enjoy cherry blossom viewing. Kenroku-en, located in the city of Kanazawa, is known as one of the three most famous traditional gardens in Japan and is designated by the government as a Special Place of Scenic Beauty.

The annual free-admission period began on Wednesday. Kenroku-en’s management office said the cherry blossoms in the garden are expected to be in full bloom through the weekend. Free admission will continue from 7 A.M. to 9:30 p.m. every day through Tuesday. The garden will also be illuminated after sunset.
