Japan’s Olympic athletes head to Milan

Japan’s leading figure skaters are on their way to Milan, Italy, as expectations are high for them to win medals at two consecutive Olympic Games. Kagiyama Yuma won silver in the men’s singles at the 2022 Beijing Olympics, and Sakamoto Kaori won bronze in the women’s singles.

The two figure skaters joined snowboarders and others for their departure from Haneda Airport early Thursday to Milan, where the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics will open on February 6, local time.
