Italian PM Meloni meets with Algerian President Tebboune in Rome

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on Wednesday welcomed Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to Rome for a summit.

The meeting took place two weeks after Algeria's state-run hydrocarbon company and the Italian energy company signed a production sharing contract worth $1.35 billion to explore and develop hydrocarbons in southeastern Algeria. The 30-year contract covers the exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons in the Zemoul El Kbar contract area, in the Berkine Basin.
