Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited Western Negev in southern Israel, accompanied by his Defense Minister Israel Katz and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office and police officials, the plan aims to strengthen border communities, curb organized crime, and reinforce state governance in the South, as well as large-scale settlement expansion and a renewed focus on restoring law and order.

He called the region "out of control" due to "the criminal threat and the security threat are merging into one, with tens of thousands of weapons, drones crossing borders, and other threats".
