Israeli strikes hit southern Lebanese town

Smoke rose and fires erupted in the southern Lebanese border town of Khiam after Israeli strikes hit the area. The Israel Defense Forces said it had begun what it described as “limited ground operations” targeting positions of Hezbollah in southern Lebanon near the border with Israel. The developments come amid escalating fighting between Israeli forces and Hezbollah along the Israel–Lebanon frontier.
