Israeli Defense Minister heads to USA

Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant departed for the United States early Sunday morning to meet with several U.S. officials, including the Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, and the Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, in Washington, D.C.

Before his departure, Gallant stated that he would discuss the transition to Phase 3 of the war in Gaza and address other fronts involving Israeli forces. The visit comes amid tensions between Israel and the U.S. after Prime Minister Netanyahu claimed that the U.S. is withholding arms shipments to Israel.
