The Israeli army dropped leaflets over Gaza City urging residents to move south to a designated humanitarian zone ahead of a planned offensive to seize the territory’s largest urban center. The leaflets directed civilians toward Al-Mawasi, which Israel describes as a safe zone.

Many residents, however, remain in Gaza City, citing lack of shelter, food, and money to relocate, while others report continued airstrikes in areas marked as safe. The evacuation orders come as transport costs in Gaza have sharply increased, making it difficult for families to leave the city.
