Israel calls all civilians, northern Gaza Strip to evacuate within 24 hours

A UN spokesman said, Israel has called for all civilians to evacuate within 24 hours the northern Gaza Strip, home to 1.1 million people, ahead of an expected ground invasion.
The Israeli military delivered the evacuation order to the UN on Friday morning, warning that civilians should evacuate further to the south, as Israel intensifies its offensive against Hamas militants.
The UN said such a movement of people could have “devastating humanitarian consequences” amid the conflict that has already displaced 423,000 people out of a population of 2.3 million.
Israel said it had struck 750 militant targets in northern Gaza overnight, including Hamas military compounds and senior operative residences. Israel has been pounding Gaza in retaliation for the Hamas surprise attack launched on Saturday.
