The Israel army announced on Sunday in a statement on X, formerly Twitter, that it will facilitate aid deliveries to Gaza by pausing military activity daily in southern areas of the enclave, where international aid organisations have alerted of a growing humanitarian crisis.

The Israel Defense Forces said on its X statement: “…a local, tactical pause of military activity for humanitarian purposes will take place from 08:00 until 19:00 (0500 GMT until 1600 GMT) every day until further notice along the road that leads from the Kerem Shalom Crossing to the Salah al-Din Road and then northward.”

The statement also added that the move aimed to “increase the volumes of humanitarian aid entering the Gaza Strip” after talks with the UN and other organizations.
