Irrigation Facility: Solar-Powered Generator installed for river water pumping

Nan Zu Pin River Water Pumping Station in Aung Lan Township has been operating for supplying irrigated water in the catchment areas.

On December 31st, the 122 kilowatts solar-powered generator was installed at the facility. Chief Minister of Magway Region U Tint Lwin visited the station and oversaw the installation process.

During the visit, the Chief Minister met with local farmers to strive for boosting production through extended cultivation of crops, effectively utilizing the irrigated water. The solar power installation project was implemented with over 403 million kyat budget allotment by the regional government for 2023-2024 fiscal year.

The project has already irrigated for monsoon crop plantations in 2024. Plans are underway to install the 75 kilowatts solar-powered generator in the next fiscal year. 80% of populations in Magway Region reside in rural areas, engaging in agriculture works.
