





Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Bo Bo Kyaw visited Yedashe Township in Bago Region on Thursday, and inspected the irrigation process to summer paddy plantations from Swa Creek Dam.
During the tour, the Deputy Minister instructed the need to emphasize for sufficient supply of irrigated water to summer paddy plantations. and boosting crop yields through systematic management. They then proceeded to Phyu Creek Dam and inspected the work implementations.
Phyu Creek Dam is providing irrigated water to over 17,000 acres summer paddy, while benefiting about 5,000 acres triple crop plantations of monsoon paddy, beans and pulses and summer paddy. Extended work plans have been carried out for sufficient supply of water for boosting per acre yield through collaboration between the department and local farmers. The Deputy Minister also inspected the construction of Left Main Canal and gave instructions for timely completion of the tasks.
