Irrigation Facilities: MOALI Deputy Minister inspects Kin Tar Dam

Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Bo Bo Kyaw made inspection tour on November 14th to oversee the progress of repair works of damaged infrastructures due to the floods caused by the impact of Typhoon Yagi. Due to the surge of Samon Creek, the feeder canals and irrigation facilities of Kin Tar Dam have been damaged, along with the inundation.

During the tour, the Deputy Minister viewed the renovation works and supply of irrigated water to the monsoon paddy fields. Officials also reported on plans for construction of immersed tube tunnel and extended supply of irrigated water to the plantations in catchment area as well as timely renovation of pumping system, water intake building, and related facilities.

The Deputy Minister instructed for work site safety and timely completion of the tasks, meeting the set standard. They then inspected the chosen site for the immersed tube tunnel, pumping process at the canals and electricity works as well as the thriving monsoon paddy fields, irrigated by Meikhtila Plain River Water Pumping Project.
