Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock U Bo BoKyaw conducted a field trip in Phyu Township of Bago Region on October 19th, to coordinate efforts with departmental personnel and local farmers to optimize the use of irrigated water from Phyu Creek Dam, and enhancing crop cultivation in the area.

The delegation then proceeded to Nga Moe Yeik Sluice Gate in Dagon Myothit East Township in Yangon Region, where they inspected the controlled release of stored water. Due to heavy rainfall in the region, the sluice gate contained an excess of water, leading to potential inundation.

In response, the Deputy Minister ordered the controlled release of additional water from the lower part of the sluice gate. He also oversaw the sanitation process to ensure the proper flow of water and the regulated release of water at HsinPhon Sluice Gate.

They then arrived at No.1 Maintenance Workshop (Kyaikkaloe) and No.1 Farm Machinery Research Workshop, under the Agricultural Mechanization Department. During the visit, the Deputy Minister provided guidance on the establishment of farming service associations to improve farming practices.

Subsequently, the Deputy Minister convened a meeting with officials from the agriculture sector at the Irrigation and Water Utilization Department. He emphasized the importance of harmonious cooperation among various departments and organizations to achieve food sufficiency and promote the development of farm-based products in the Yangon Region.
