Iraqi PM inaugurates Mosul landmark mosque after restoration

Iraq’s Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani inaugurated the renovated Great Mosque of al-Nuri in Old Mosul, including its 12th-century ‘Al-Hadba’ leaning minaret. The mosque, heavily damaged during the fight against the Islamic State (IS) group, has been restored as part of broader reconstruction efforts in the city. Officials said the project aims to preserve Mosul’s historic heritage and serve as a symbol of Iraqi resilience.
