Iranian foreign minister says Tehran is 'ready for negotiations'

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said his country is ready to resume negotiations over its nuclear program. US President Donald Trump has been increasing pressure on Iran to restart the talks, and his administration has deployed warships to the region.

Araghchi held a news conference in Istanbul on Friday. He repeatedly said Iran is prepared to return to the negotiating table. He said the nuclear activities are "peaceful in nature" and that Iran has "never pursued nuclear weapons."
