Iran tech students battle it out through robot fights

Iran's four-day-long Tech Olympics pitted the country's future engineering talent against each other through ruthless battles between robots. Running from October 27–30, the event hosted 1,200 elite finalists from 16 countries, who competed across six specialized fields.

With other challenges in AI, cybersecurity, drones and smart devices, Iran aspires to become a key regional player in emerging technologies, despite decades of international sanctions that have hampered its development.
