Investment activities: Magway Region Investment Committee holds meeting

The Magway Region’s Investment Committee held its meeting 8/2023 at the regional government office on Monday.

In the meeting, the chairman of Magway Region Investment committee Magway region chief minister U Tint Lwin stressed that there are 20 foreign investments and 34 local investing in various sectors of Magway region includes natural gas and solar energy (HYBRID) power production business in July 2023.

He said, the rising investment in electric sector is a key factor for development of the country production sector and fulfill the needs of electricity demand. He urged to continue to make efforts to improve the national economy and socio-economic life of people across the country by promoting agricultural and livestock based manufacturing activities.

He added that about 70% of the country population lives in rural areas and the development of agricultural and livestock based production activities is a key to success of the country. Then, he urged to MSMEs businesses owners to make them widely aware of the rights and exemptions under Myanmar's investment law, and to invite more investments in the region.

Later, the committee members discussed the field survey and services provided by Magway Region Investment Supervisory team.
