





The International Youth Day 2024 was observed at Wunna Theiddi stadium in Nay Pyi Taw in the afternoon on 12th August and the Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attended and delivered a speech.
In his speech at the occasion, the SAC Chairman said that the International Youth Day is observed at each country on 12th August as well as it’s held in Myanmar with the specific objectives for the youth,The theme for 2024 International Youth Day set by the UN is “Youth Digital Pathways For Sustainable Development”.
The theme is intended to call for the youth to play the vital role in the implementation for meeting the sustainable development goals together with the digital transformation.
The State Administration Council is addressing the development of youth sector by setting the third objective among three social objective ““To nurture the youth sector, bringing out versatile, physically strong, knowledgeable, morally upright, socially adept and economically empowered young individuals, poised to lead the nation's development efforts”.
All relevant ministries, organizations, committees and responsible officials are urged to make effort for the development of the youth as the solidified and harmonized future society can be created only by the gifted, health and fit, conceivable, good morale youth.
Next, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister awarded the honorable prizes to the youth who won the gold medal in the international competitions. Then, Chairman of Myanmar Youth Affairs Committee Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan presented a commemorated gift marked the International Youth Day to the SAC Chairman Prime Minister.
Next, Chairman of Myanmar Youth Affairs Committee Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs read a message sent by the UN Secretary General for 2024 International Youth Day.Then, a documentary Video Clip recorded the activities for the development of the youth commemorated 2024 International Youth Day was watched.Consequently, SAC Chairman and attendees watched the performance of songs honored the youth and dance of ethnic culture.
After that, the SAC Chairman and party posed for the documentary photo together with the youth who won the gold medal in the international competitions and SAC Chairman cordially greeted the attendees.After the conclusion of ceremony, SAC Chairman Prime Minister and attendees viewed the photo exhibition booths marked the 2024 International Youth Day, it’s learnt.
