





Myanmar delegation led by State Administration Council Member Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya Tun Oo arrived back to Yangon on June 10th after attending the 27th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2024) held from June 5th to 8th in St. Petersburg of the Russian Federation.
The delegation was welcomed back by the relevant departmental personnel from respective departments at Yangon International Airport. The SPIEF-2024, held annually since 1997, is a leading global platform for international business organizations to discuss Russia's main economic sectors, its ever-growing markets and the current global economic situation.
On June 5, the Myanmar delegation met with Mr. Sergei YurievichGlazyev, Minister in Charge of Integration and Macroeconomics at the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC). During the meeting, they discussed trade and investment development, bilateral cooperation and regional economic integration activities.
In the afternoon, the Myanmar delegation met with the Russian delegation led by Mr. Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the Fund RC-Investments, along with other representatives. They engaged in a friendly and open discussion regarding the current cooperation of the FundRC-Investments and future activities. On June 6th, the delegation met with Mr. Maksim Reshetnikov, the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on further processes and the advancement of economic cooperation between Myanmar and Russia. Then, the delegation met with the Minister of Transport, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation Mr. Igor Levitin and discussed the cooperation on infrastructure in Myanmar's transportation and other sectors.
In the evening, the Myanmar delegation attended the dinner hosted by Mr. Ivan Viktorovich Polyakov, Chairman of Russia-ASEAN Business Council and cordially discussed the promotion of business cooperation between the two countries.
On June 7th, they also met with the delegation led by Russian Minister of Transport, discussing transport sector of the two countries. In Healthcare sector, the two Ministers of Health made discussion on importing and distribution of oncology drugs from Russia and to be able to produce in Myanmar for the development of health care sector. At the Main Forum-Plenary Session, the Myanmar delegation made separate discussion with Technology companies and associations.
