International Day of Yoga celebrations in Sri Lanka

In a landmark celebration of the International Day of Yoga, Sri Lanka witnessed synchronized Yoga performances across 117 Ayurveda institutions on Thursday, marking one of the country’s most extensive Yoga outreach efforts to date. 

Organised by the cultural arm of the High Commission of India, the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, in partnership with Sri Lanka’s Department of Ayurveda, the initiative brought together 113 Ayurveda hospitals and 4 universities in a coordinated celebration of holistic health and wellness.
