International crews continue rescue efforts in Turkiye

International rescue crews continued searching for survivors on Tuesday under the rubble in Turkish in Syrian provinces hardest hit by last week's earthquake.

Portuguese crews continued their rescue work in Antakya, along with Spanish crews, aided by a canine unit.The death toll from the deadly earthquakes in southeastern Turkiye and northern Syria passed 35,000, and was certain to increase as search teams find more bodies.

Tens of thousands of buildings were destroyed or severely damaged, leaving millions homeless.As shelters filled up in the days after the quake, many were seeking shelter in tent cities that were set up in various areas, including the port city of Iskenderun.
