International Assistance: Search and rescue teams arrive Myanmar

Following a powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar on March 28, the international communities have been sending relief items and rescue teams in order to assist in the ongoing rescue measures in the quake hit areas.

On March 29th and 30th, relief items and rescue teams from China’s Yunnan Province, China (Hong Kong), India, Singapore, Russia, and Thailand arrived in Myanmar, accompanying doctors, medicines, medical equipment, rescue equipment and canine teams. 

It is learnt that 23 members of the Russian rescue team, along with four canines and two translators left for Mandalay by the military aircraft. Two tons of relief supplies from Russia and 1.5 tons from India were also on board the aircrafts. Likewise, the Singaporean Rescue Team and Myanmar Fire Brigade members rushed to Pyaw Bwe after seven survivors were reported trapped in the collapsed Kanbawza Bank building.
