International airlines have been resuming flights to Lebanon following the cessation of hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah, bringing connectivity back to the country after months of disruption.

The Lebanese government began issuing permits at the end of November and has continued to do. The ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah went into effect on Nov 27, putting an end to the confrontations that erupted on Oct 8, 2023.

Despite fears of a return to conflict after the cessation of hostilities agreement expires, the Lebanese government said it will do everything it can to protect the airport, stressing that all land and airports are subject to Lebanese law and under the authority of the security forces and the Lebanese army.
