Inter-School Foot Competition: Rakhine State CM attended the opening ceremony

The opening ceremony of the 2025 Monsoon Season Inter-Basic Education Schools Football Tournament, organized under the supervision of the Rakhine State Government, was held in the evening of July 7 at the Dhanyawaddy Sports Ground in Sittwe.

The event was attended by Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin and his wife, the Chief Justice of the State High Court, members of the state government, departmental officials, teachers, sports teams, students, and sports enthusiasts.

During the opening ceremony, Chief Minister U Htein Lin delivered a speech encouraging youth to strive not only for academic excellence and intellectual knowledge but also for physical fitness, perseverance, good character, morality, cultural refinement, and patriotism. He urged all participants to compete successfully and fairly in the tournament and to demonstrate clean and skillful football playing throughout the matches.

After that, athletes recited the sportsmanship oath, and the opening match of the monsoon inter-school football tournament was played between Basic Education High School No. 9 and Basic Education High School No. 1, with High School No. 9 winning 2–0.

Following the match, Chief Minister U Htein Lin and his wife, along with the Chief Justice, and other officials presented honorary cash awards to the participating football teams, cheerleading squads, and drum & bugle ensembles.
